+When you reach out, we keep whatever you tell us — typically a name, email address, phone number, and sometimes a postal address if you place an order. That information sits on file so we can reply, send what you bought, and answer follow-up questions. Nothing else happens with it. We do not run advertising, we do not feed it to analytics dashboards, and we do not give it to third parties beyond what's strictly required to deliver an order (a shipping carrier, a payment processor). We hold records for as long as the relationship is active plus the period required by tax or accounting rules. After that we delete or anonymise them. You can email us at any time to see what we have, fix what's wrong, or remove yourself entirely from our records.

What the espresso bar actually records

Event bookings for the back bench take a name and a phone number, held until the event is done and for one month after in case something was left behind. The tasting-notes mailing list is an address and a first name; leaving it deletes both within a week. Mara's brew-log — grind settings, water temperatures, which roaster's Huila is on — contains no customer data at all, though she guards it more carefully.

Payment terminals are the provider's business; card numbers never touch our systems. There are no tracking pixels here and no data is sold, swapped or 'shared with partners'.

When the law asks

A court order or a statutory demand is the one circumstance where data leaves without your say-so — and even then, only the minimum demanded, with a note kept of what went where. It has never happened. If it ever does and the law allows us to tell you, we will.

Changes

Policy changes are dated on this page; anything you would actually notice is also chalked on the specials board for two weeks. Three years of previous versions are kept and shown on request.

The suggestion box

Paper suggestions from the box by the grinder are read weekly and recycled after the month's review — unless you left a contact for a reply, in which case the slip is kept until the reply is sent and no longer.
