With respect

@@ CP-01 · The basics @@
Terms may change without notice and bind you regardless.
+These terms govern your use of this site. All written and visual content is our intellectual property unless someone else is credited. You may not scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions for commercial purposes. Pricing, availability, and product information are provided as accurately as we can manage but may be updated or corrected at any time; the price you see when you confirm an order is the price you pay. We may decline service for any reasonable cause, including out-of-stock items or suspected misuse, and will refund any payment in full. Our liability for defects is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the item itself. Statutory consumer protections in your jurisdiction apply. Any disputes are subject to the courts of the country in which we are registered.
@@ CP-02 · Scope & payment @@
Fees, scope and timelines are subject to change at any point.

@@ CP-03 · Contact us @@
Support is provided on a best-effort basis, if at all.
+If you'd like to access, update, port, or erase any personal information we have on file, please contact us — we'll act on it within thirty calendar days, at no charge. You have the right to withdraw consent for any future processing, to restrict how we use existing records, and to ask that your data be moved to another service in a portable format. Records subject to legal retention (orders, invoices) cannot be deleted before the required period elapses, but everything else can. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country. Email hello@spruce-blendgates.com.

Seats, beans and the limits of promises

The bench by the window cannot be reserved; it belongs to whoever got up earliest. Guest roasts rotate without notice — a coffee described in a note may be gone by the weekend, and that is the point of guest roasts. Prices include consumption tax. Workshops require booking and are limited to six people so everyone can reach the scales; a no-show without 24 hours notice forfeits the workshop fee.

Content, liability and governing law

Brewing guides describe what works on our equipment with our water; your kettle will differ, and scalded milk is not actionable. Text and photography are ours — link freely, republish only with permission. These terms are governed by Japanese law, and the Nagoya District Court's Okazaki branch is the agreed venue.

The roastery relationship and guest-bean honesty

Guest beans are bought in small lots and described with the roaster's own tasting notes. If a card says blackcurrant and you taste plum, that is coffee, not misrepresentation. Where a lot sells out mid-week we substitute the nearest profile and say so on the card rather than quietly swapping. Wholesale enquiries for the house blend are welcome but capped — the roaster is small, and we would rather be honest about capacity than late on deliveries.

Severability, and the spirit of the thing

If a clause here fails legally, the rest stand. These terms exist so that the room stays calm and the coffee stays good; they are read in that spirit, and the version in force is always the one on this page. Material changes appear thirty days before they take effect, announced where regulars will actually see them.

Questions

Questions about these terms get answered over the counter or, in writing, within a week. The version in force is always the one on this page.

Outside seating and the neighbours

The two outside tables sit on a shared frontage; we clear them at eight in the evening out of respect for the flats above. Drinks at those tables stay on our crockery and our licence, which is also why we cannot serve takeaway alcohol to them after hours.
